David S. Freedman As CEO of NexGen Arrays, David spends 100% of his time on the SP-IRIS platform. Dr. Freedman has mastered many facets of engineering, including electronics, software, biology, optics, microfabrication, and mechanical design.
David received a B.S. degree in electrical engineering and a B.A. degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego, La Jolla, CA in 2005 and a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Boston University, Boston, MA, in 2010 from the VLSI and Neural Net Systems laboratory. For 2 years he was postdoctoral researcher for Professor M. Selim Unlu at Boston University’s Optical Characterization and Nanophotonics laboratory where he developed addressable optically powered neural stimulators for use in the spinal cord followed by one year as a Research Engineer at the Center for Neuroscience at Boston University. David has co-authored over 12 book chapters, journal articles, and conference articles on biosensing as a post-doc in the Unlu laboratory.
